Well, its sold.
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
They came back with $2500 and I sent them on their way. I didn’t feel as bad about it as I thought. It was 2 brothers and one of them had a family with a couple of small boys. They came to pick it up and were so pumped. Im happy it went to a good home.
Now for my plans: New seats for the cruiser with ceramic seat heaters and a new sub to round out the stereo. I might also see if I can get my rust repaired...though its probably going to be more than the whole boat for that alone. Also bought new rotors tonight which I am excited about because I’ve got the pulses.
They are taking down to Lake Powell to fulfill its catalog destiny. Good on them.

Congrats! This sounds like going to a good home is as important as anything else, and that makes me happy for you.

I’
m happy it went to a good home.
If this doesn’t sum up the Oppo/Jalop mentality, I’m not sure what does. We really do have feelings about these machines, what they have meant for us and our families, thankful for their service to us. Clearly, it’s not on the same level as a pet, but we want these inanimate objects to “live a good life” when they leave our homes, to be used well, taken care of, and enjoyed, not abused or neglected or left taking up space in the corner of some pristine garage.
Godspeed, little wake boat...

What sub are you going with and where are you going to put it? I want to get a 10" sub but I’m still deciding on location

I bought a custom bracket that allows me to put a 10 inch self powered sub in the factory location in the rear quarter panel. I realize its not going to be as good as a larger enclosure but Im not looking to shake the panels, just add some bass where these is basically none now.
I haven’t decided which 10 inch self powered sub to buy. This is the bracket I bought.
Probably get the RF one like so simply because I know it will fit this bracket and they don’t seem to be very different between brands. I know people have put a Corwin Vega 12 self powered in the same spot but I really don’t think it will make that big a difference.
You can buy a bracket that allows for a larger driver and seperate amp but Im not convinced ANY size drive or amp free air in this cavity would perform better than a small enclosure like this except at super low frequencies.

Same here I just have the $50 pioneer speakers. Looks like a good bracket though. It’s amazing how little room there is in the stock location. I built a drawer system with a solid storage spot so I was t hinking of splurging and putting a JL self powered one in there but I’m not sure how it would sound behind 3/4" birch without a cutout for it. There’s under the seat ones too but I’ve never actually heard what that sounds like

Nice draws...in a non-creepy way. I hear the self powered ones like the underseat one and the one I’m looking at do a pretty admirable job. Better than most people’s expectations as I understand. Like I said, Im not looking to rattle windows (the trucks has enough of its own thank you very much) just to have some bass. Looks like you have a 97 anniversary as well in antique sage (old brown). Noy my favorite color but it cleans up nice. Your paint is in much better shape than mine.

Thanks, I was pretty happy with how they turned out. Bigger project than I expected. And y ep I got a 40th too. My parents bought it back in 2004 and it was under cover pretty much the whole time. The p aint is in pretty good shape, there’s a couple spots you can see on the hood if you stare at it that have lost some clear coat but that’s about it.
Besides the sub,
I also
want to do one of those hidden winch installs and put
a winch behind the
stock bumper but not sure on what
winch yet

I’ve thought about a winch...but I’ve never used one. I don’t travel solo very often. Seems like added weight and money I don’t need to spend.
